Established in 1948 as South Florida’s first baccalaureate nursing program, the School of Nursing and Health Studies has a rich tradition of preparing health professionals to provide compassionate, quality care to local and global communities.
The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies offers courses leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Health Science. Baccalaureate education provides the foundation for further education in specialized health professional fields.
The primary mission of the faculty of the BSPH degree program is to develop competencies in public health, equip learners for entry-level public health positions, and to pursue graduate studies in public health and related fields.
